Telluride began the best-of-five with a win, but SHS settled in and claimed the next three to prevail 18-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-12. THS then hosted Buena Vista the next afternoon and lost an even closer 21-25, 17-25, 25-18, 25-16, 10-15 contest. The Lady Miners' early-season homestand is slated to continue this weekend, with Hotchkiss-based North Fork in town on the 30th and 2A/1A San Juan Basin League force Dove Creek coming on the 31st.
