What a great meet today! I am so incredibly proud of our Miner Runners who gave it all today! Both teams did an AMAZING job running together in groups (which we call pack running). As you can see through the times and places, they finished pretty close together. One mistake I have made is I was informed there were 11 schools at the meet and shared this with the kids. However, there were fewer number of MS teams than HS. Either way, they did phenomenally well!!

Ridgway Ramble Middle School Meet Results

I am so incredibly proud of our team yesterday at Ridgway Ramble! They really gave it their best as they knew how and it was a TOUGH course!! (Even the lead runners were walking up the hill!)
First and foremost, thank you to all the parents who came to support the Miners! Your support is so greatly appreciated! And to those who were not able to make it but cheered from afar, thank you!!

***Before we get into the results, if you could please tell the runners to try and run 30 - 40 minutes easy run tomorrow, that would be fantastic! I really want to get this team ready for our next meet where I really believe they are going to shine - on a much flatter course! More information about the meet will come out on Monday. ??
For Middle School Boys - I have to say, what an amazing effort on the boys in trying to stay together as a team!!! From our first runner to our sixth, there was only 1min 15 sec stretch! WOW!! Absolutely fantastic! As these boys run together and move up, they will have a tremendous chance to place as a team! Also, kiddos to Nash who fell in the beginning with some pretty good war wounds and still managed to finish the race as best as he could without giving up! 95 Runners competed in this race. Telluride finished 5th out of 9 teams.

For Middle School Girls - These girls also did an amazing job of staying together as a team! Throughout the race, one could see several groups of three or four running together. Even though some may not have felt that this was their best race (cramps, first race, etc), they still paced themselves with other teammates to hang in there and finish as best as they could. I am so proud of them!!! Telluride also finished in 5th place and 67 runners competed in this race.

Amazing Miner Runners!

I can't even begin to tell you how proud I am of these Amazing Miner Runners! All of them gave it their very best shot and have improved immensely since their mile time trials and last year times (for most returning runners). Many also met their goals of breaking a certain time for a mile and/or being able to finish the race without stopping or walking. I couldn't be more proud of their accomplishments and you would probably agree!
To start off with, this meet was a very big meet with many schools attending and 145 runners for boys and 121 runners for girls - just in middle school! However, these kids did not let this phase them. They were ready with a smile on their faces! Here are the results.

Parents - thank you so very much for your support! I really appreciate it!! We are off to a great start and can't wait for the next meet which is this coming Friday in Ridgway. More information will be coming on Monday in regards to this meet. We will also have another team dinner - yet this time will be with the High School runners and a movie. More information to come. Mountaineer / Cowyboy Invite - Gunnison.

Hi Everyone!
We are sooooo incredibly excited about our first meet! Below is the information about the Mountaineer/ Cowboy Invite as well as what is coming up this week. Please let me know if you have any questions.
On Monday, athletes will be giving us their shirt sizes so we can order them their team shirts.
On Wednesday, athletes will be getting their race uniforms. If they are not present, they can receive them on Thursday.
On Thursday, there is Open House. We will be practicing close by and will be behind the school by 4:30 if you would like to pick up your child early.
On Friday after practice is our first team dinner! This takes place in the THS/TMS cafeteria from 5PM - 6PM. More information coming. Please be watching for it. ??
Mountaineer / Cowboy Invite
Takes place at the Gunnison Middle School on Saturday, September 16th.
MS Boys run at 9AM
MS Girls run at 9:30 AM
College Men 10 AM
College Women 10:45 AM
HS Boys 11:15 AM
HS Girls 11:45 AM
Awards 12:30 PM
We are to meet in the front of THS/TMS at 4:45 AM to board the bus along with the HS runners. The bus will leave at 5AM. If you live in Placerville or beyond, we can pick you up in Placerville in front of the store at 5:15AM.
I will have homemade muffins for the kids to eat on the way there. However any other snacks and lunch your child would like to have along with water, they will need to bring as well as warm clothes since it will be chilly in the morning. We will be going straight to Gunnison and straight back. At this time, there are no planned stops. You are more than welcome to send money with your child in case there is something available at the meet for them to purchase. Your child will also want to bring things to do at the meet for when they are finished with their race since there is a lot of time between their race and when we will head home. We should arrive between 4:00 - 4:30PM. If you would like for me to text you when we are in Montrose, feel free to text me with your child's name at 970-519-1656 beforehand and I will text you back at that time.
If you come to the meet and would like to take your child home, please check in with me to sign them out at the meet.
